Aero are attempting to reposition themselves with a more male orientated ad featuring Brazilian pro skater Bob Burnquist riding a skate bowl in California filled with 50,000 brown balloons. The campaign follows the previous female orientated ad which involved a half naked man wandering around his apartment:
The new ad clearly looks to move the brand towards a young male demographic while maintaining that “Sony Bravia bouncy balls” feel that will maintain an interest from those who appreciate good design and imagery:
Though many may think it’s main inspiration was the Bravia ad’s, this video placed on YouTube a year-and-a-half ago may make them think twice:
No matter what the inspiration though, the ad looks great and will gain popularity with it’s summery feel with the Jackson 5 track supporting the laid back attitude. Shame about the rubbish bite scene at the beginning though, but I guess if they hadn’t confirmed the brand from the start then people may have thought it was an ad for laxatives rather than a chocolate bar.
